Gardens of Divine Hope Church in Denver, Colorado, is excited to announce a series of collaborative gardening events with local schools for the upcoming spring months. These initiatives aim to foster community engagement, provide educational opportunities, and cultivate a shared appreciation for nature.
March: Planning and Preparation Workshops
In March, we will host a series of workshops focused on garden planning and preparation. Students, teachers, and community members are invited to participate in sessions covering topics such as soil health, seed selection, and sustainable gardening practices. These workshops will equip participants with the knowledge and skills necessary to embark on successful gardening projects.
April: Community Planting Days
April marks the beginning of our community planting days. Partnering with local schools, we will organize events where students and volunteers come together to plant a variety of vegetables, herbs, and flowers in our community gardens. These hands-on experiences not only teach horticultural skills but also emphasize teamwork and environmental stewardship.
May: Garden Maintenance and Growth Monitoring
As our gardens begin to flourish in May, we will focus on maintenance and growth monitoring. Students will engage in activities such as weeding, watering, and tracking the progress of their plants. This phase reinforces the importance of consistent care and observation in successful gardening.
We are also thrilled to highlight the Denver Botanic Gardens' annual Spring Plant Sale on Friday and Saturday, May 9 & 10, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. This event offers a wide selection of plants suitable for Colorado gardens and serves as an excellent resource for our community members.
Gardens of Divine Hope Church is committed to providing food through planting community gardens and collaborating with various churches and schools in the Denver Metro Area.
